Aatmanirbhar Bharat Campaign

How can children contribute to the National Development?

School children are one of the most valuable assets and prized possessions for the country. These children full of enthusiasm, creativity and bright progressive minds possess all the miraculous powers in the world which they can use to change or reshape their nation and mankind as well. Schooling system plays a very pivotal role in shaping their mindset and individuality. Be it their educational achievements, physical abilities, attitude towards certain things, scientific knowledge, interests or acquisition of literacy, schools are a major factor impacting all of the mentioned.

They are the minds and hands upon whom the future of the nation fall upon. To invest properly in these assets should be our utmost priority. Giving them proper information and education about everything is an important step in enlightening them and making them socially, physically and intellectually powerful and confident. Giving them clear ideology and concept about racism, humanity, gender stereotypes, animal rights, environmental issues, equality, patriotism etc. will lead us towards national development.

For a nation can only prosper when its people; its children; its future nation holders have true sense and meaning about the concerned issues and are ready to turn their country into a land of opportunities with their deeds, efforts and hard work. The schooling system ought to help them think and believe what's right and what's just.

Schooling should help us build interest and finding out the field, in which we have passion and potential about. One should be free to choose their profession, be it in sports, healthcare, finance, politics, science, art, technology, sports etc.

Here are some ways of how all this can be turned into a reality.

Now what are the things they should be made aware of? They should be taught about what equality really means; to be equal in true sense. It shouldn’t matter if you are male or female or transgender, if you are born in low caste or high caste. It shouldn't matter if you are Muslim, Hindu, Christian or Sikh. It shouldn't matter what is your sexuality or where do you live or what is your colour… if you are a black or brown or white. It shouldn’t matter if you are a teacher, doctor, sweeper, helper or clerk. All jobs, colours, creed, religion, gender, languages, financial statuses, states and human being are seen as one as equal. We should never discriminate among people and treat them with equality and respect regardless of any barriers. One should not judge people and give them the freedom of expression and speech.

They should be taught about importance of environmental conservation and sustainable development. To conserve and preserve environment is to conserve mankind and humanity. Every element of nature including livestock has its own importance.

Now how we children can really implement this?

Uplifting underprivileged people is a sheer act of humanity and makes you an asset for your country. Many of us whom have access to private schools can educate underprivileged students so they can educate their siblings and others and thereby making a whole chain. Education and knowledge is essential for the country's development. It gives you confidence and a strong personality.

We can take small initiatives like holding awareness campaigns and critically criticizing malpractices like child marriage, child labour, gender stereotypes, untouchability and reporting them if witnessed any.

Some very little but countable efforts like not using tiffins and bottles of plastic, growing a small plant and using domestic products. The products which are made in India should be promoted and we should avoid using foreign goods.

The children who are inspired by stars and space and galaxies who want to be an astronaut or want to go into astronomical department should dream of serving their very countries’ space organisation (ISRO) over other foreign space organisations.

We, the digital natives can also make use of net to gain knowledge about various topics in fields, to learn everyday so soon we can revolutionize our India.

The biggest threat to this is thinking that contribution by these small children will not count as you may have heard every small step leads to big victories. Supporting ourselves will make us powerful and confident individuals so that we can turn India into self-reliant India.

We can be make India Aatmanirbhar in true sense if we choose to do it.For the change is only possible if we believe in us. For the magic is in us. We just need to believe.
